About Alain Resnais
Alain Resnais debuted features with Hiroshima Mon Amour in 1959 with Emmanuelle Riva, then Last Year at Marienbad in 1961 and Muriel in 1963. The War Is Over arrived in 1966, Stavisky in 1974 and Providence in 1977 with John Gielgud.
Mon Oncle dAmerique followed in 1980, Smoking and No Smoking in 1993 as twin plays, Same Old Song in 1997 and Life of Riley in 2014 as final stage close.
