About Anaconda
Anaconda started in 1997 as a jungle creature feature about a documentary crew hunted by a giant snake. Three sequels followed: Blood Orchid in 2004, then two TV movies in 2008 and 2009, then a 2015 crossover with Lake Placid. A Chinese remake arrived in 2024.
The 2025 film is a meta reboot starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd as friends remaking the original. It released December 25, 2025 and made over 135 million dollars. Each continuity stands alone, so release order works for a first watch. Start with 1997 and skip around after that.
Good to know
The original four films form one loose timeline from 1997 to 2009, with the 2015 crossover after them. The 2024 Chinese film and the 2025 reboot are separate continuities, not sequels, so do not look for plot links between the three groups. Watch the 1997 original first either way. It sets the tone the rest copy.
