About Atlee
Atlee directs big hearted Tamil masala with twin action and social speeches. Raja Rani from 2013 opened as a register office romance, Theri from 2016 gave Vijay a cop vigilante double turn, and Mersal from 2017 tripled him across magician and doctor roles. Bigil from 2019 paired football with a father son gangster past.
Jawan from September 2023 took the formula to Hindi with Shah Rukh Khan as father and son jailer vigilantes. The Raaka collaboration with Allu Arjun is filming with a reported May 2028 window. A Salman Khan project is on hold and stays out until cameras confirm it.
Good to know
Release order is the suggested path since every film replays the double role and interval twist at a bigger scale. The Vijay run of Theri, Mersal and Bigil shares no continuity despite the same lead, so any of the three works as a first taste. Raaka is filming with a reported May 2028 window but no studio locked day, so it sits last with a 2028 year until dated.
