About The Bad Guys

The Bad Guys from 2022 follows Mr Wolf and his crew trying to turn model citizens after one last heist. The sequel from August 2025 pulls them out of retirement for a job with an all female squad. Both films come from DreamWorks Animation with Pierre Perifel directing.

Netflix carries three prequels with a replacement cast: A Very Bad Holiday from 2023, Haunted Heist from 2024, and the series that started as Breaking In in November 2025 with a second season in April 2026. A short called Little Lies and Alibis bridges the two films.

Good to know

Release order works best for a first watch, since the 2022 film introduces the crew the prequels assume you like. Story order moves the series and both specials before the first film, with Little Lies between the films. A third film has been discussed since June 2025, but key creators left DreamWorks, so it stays out until dated.
