About Blake Edwards
Blake Edwards (1922-2010) was an American writer-director whose career ran from 1950s television, where he created Peter Gunn, to some of the most durable Hollywood comedies ever made. His peaks include Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), the Inspector Clouseau films with Peter Sellers, The Great Race (1965), The Party (1968), 10 (1979) and Victor/Victoria (1982).
His films are separate stories, so release order is the right way to watch. This list keeps to the essential features in the order they came out, with a note on each. The two post-Sellers Panther compilations and Curse of the Pink Panther are the only entries most viewers can safely skip.
Good to know
Edwards died in 2010, so this filmography is complete; Son of the Pink Panther (1993) was his final feature. Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) reuses outtakes of Sellers, who died in 1980, and Curse of the Pink Panther (1983) tries to continue without Clouseau. Start with The Pink Panther (1963) and A Shot in the Dark (1964) for the Clouseau comedies.
