About Caddyshack
Caddyshack follows the caddies and golfers of Bushwood Country Club through class war and a gopher, with Bill Murray's Carl Spackler stealing the 1980 original. The 1988 sequel returns to Bushwood with Jackie Mason and Robert Stack leading a mostly new cast.
Watch the original first, then the sequel only for completism. Part two replays the structure without Ramis, Knight or Dangerfield behind its best material, so it plays as an echo that needs the original's context. The two share a club and a gopher but little else.

Harold Ramis directed the original and sat out the sequel, which explains the quality gap plainly for viewers tuning in late to the series. Chevy Chase cameos in part two as the bridge between casts. No third film has ever been developed, so the pair stands complete with the original carrying the legacy.
