About Candyman
Four Candyman films span 1992 to 2021, all growing from Clive Barker's short story The Forbidden. Bernard Rose's original stars Virginia Madsen as a researcher who summons Tony Todd's hook-handed killer in Chicago's Cabrini-Green. Two 1990s sequels move the legend to New Orleans and Los Angeles.
Nia DaCosta's 2021 film, co-written with Jordan Peele, returns to Cabrini-Green as a legacy sequel to the 1992 original. One straight list covers the series, since each film follows the last in release order.
