About Candyman
Candyman from 1992 introduces Daniel Robitaille as a hook handed spirit summoned by saying his name five times in Chicago. Farewell to the Flesh from 1995 moves the myth to New Orleans, and Day of the Dead from 1999 jumps to Los Angeles in the year 2020. The 2021 Candyman from Nia DaCosta returns to Chicago as a direct follow up to 1992.
Watch in release order first. The 2021 film treats parts 2 and 3 as loose lore rather than required setup. A chronological path exists for rewatches, placing 2021 before the 1999 story, but it weakens the original reveal if used first.
