About Cheech and Chong
Up in Smoke from 1978 follows Pedro and Man on a weed-fueled drive to a Battle of the Bands, and became the highest-grossing stoner film ever. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong wrote, directed and starred, inventing a genre on a tiny budget.
Seven follow-ups ran through 1985: Next Movie, Nice Dreams, Things Are Tough All Over, Still Smokin, Corsican Brothers, Get Out of My Room, plus the Animated Movie in 2013. The plots never connect, so release order is a tour of the duo at their peak and past it. Start with Up in Smoke, which remains untouchable.
