About Chicken Run
Chicken Run follows Ginger and a flock of hens planning an escape from Mrs. Tweedy egg farm, with Rocky the rooster crashing in to help them fly the coop. The 2000 original ends with the flock reaching a safe island sanctuary and starting over free from farmers.
Dawn of the Nugget from 2023 picks up years later with Ginger and Rocky as parents, when their daughter Molly is lured into a nugget factory run by a familiar foe. The sequel flips the first film, since the flock must break back into a farm instead of out of one.
Good to know
Watch the two films in release order, since Dawn of the Nugget assumes you know Ginger, Rocky, Babs and Mac from the island ending of the first film. Story order matches release order here, so one list covers it. The 2023 film recasts most voices with new actors, which needs no story explanation, and no third film has been dated as of this check.
