About Conclave
Conclave follows Cardinal Lawrence, who runs the papal vote after the pope dies and finds rival cardinals hiding past sins. He checks ballot counts, sealed rooms and press leaks while faith wavers. Early scenes cover the death rites, the first ballots and the rules for locked conclave halls.
Later scenes follow the bombing shock, the hidden ordination files and the push toward the surprise chosen name. Edward Berger directed the 2024 thriller from Robert Harris book with Ralph Fiennes. Watch the full 120 minute feature straight, since each ballot changes who Lawrence trusts and why the last reveal lands hard.
Good to know
Watch Conclave start to finish in one sitting. The vote plot moves from first ballots to late twists in fixed order, so skipping ahead hides how doubt turns to resolve. There is no sequel in continuity. New viewers should expect a talky 2024 pace that rewards close listening more than action beats. Stay through the final chapel stretch unbroken, since the ending reframes earlier votes fast.
