About Dag Johan Haugerud
Dag Johan Haugerud spent a decade on quiet Oslo dramas before his 2024 trilogy. I Belong from 2012 opened the run, Beware of Children from 2019 put a schoolyard incident under parent pressure, and the three 2024 features Sex, Love and Dreams form one conversation about desire. Dreams won the Golden Bear in 2025.
The trilogy shot out of order across 2022 and 2023 but released Sex, Love, Dreams in that sequence. All three carry 2024 as their Norwegian year. The earlier shorts stay optional. No next feature is announced, which leaves the trilogy as the current close of a patient run.
Good to know
Release order is the suggested path. The 2024 trilogy must stay in its Sex, Love, Dreams release sequence even though Love and Dreams shot first, since the desire conversation builds across the premieres. The shorts from 1998 to 2006 are student scale and stay out. No next feature is announced. Watch Beware of Children before the trilogy for his school pressure grammar.
