About Jonas Trueba
Jonas Trueba directs talkative Madrid films about couples, friends and artists deciding whether to stay together or split. His early work with Los Ilusos Films follows young creatives in Malasana apartments, while The August Virgin follows a single woman alone in the city during a hot August week.
The later films widen the method. Who is Stopping Us builds a portrait from years with teenage non actors, and The Other Way Around stages a separation as a negotiated ritual. Release order matches the development of that style, so it works as the viewing path.
Good to know
Watch in release order. The films share actors, neighborhoods and jokes, but each story stands alone, so there is no puzzle to solve by reordering. The short films and the 2018 Qui lo impide fragments feed into the 2021 Who is Stopping Us feature, so you can skip them unless you want the full workshop version of that project.
