About Death Wish
Death Wish from 1974 stars Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, a New York architect turned vigilante after his family is attacked. A huge hit that sparked debates about street crime, it locked Bronson into the role for life.
Four Cannon sequels followed Kersey across the 1980s and 90s: Part II in 1982, 3 in 1985, The Crackdown in 1987 and The Face of Death in 1994, each bloodier and pulpier. Bruce Willis headlined a 2018 remake. Watch the Bronson five in order first. The remake retells the original separately and plays best last.
Good to know
Release order carries Kersey's story from grieving architect to unstoppable avenger across five Bronson films. The sequels grow cartoonish fast, which fans consider the charm rather than a flaw. The 2018 remake adapts only the first film, so treat it as an alternate take after the originals. Nothing further has been announced.
