About Has Fallen
Gerard Butler plays Secret Service agent Mike Banning across three films: Olympus Has Fallen (2013, directed by Antoine Fuqua), London Has Fallen (2016, directed by Babak Najafi), and Angel Has Fallen (2019, directed by Ric Roman Waugh). Aaron Eckhart plays President Benjamin Asher in the first two, and Morgan Freeman plays Speaker turned President Allan Trumbull in all three. The trilogy grossed over $500 million worldwide combined.
Paris Has Fallen (2024) moved the franchise to television: an eight-episode Canal+ series, streaming on Hulu in the US, starring Tewfik Jallab as a protection officer and Ritu Arya as an MI6 operative, with Butler producing. It follows new leads in the same universe. Watch it after the three films. Release order is story order, and one list covers everything.
Good to know
A fourth film, Night Has Fallen, was greenlit in 2020 with Butler attached to return, then delayed by the 2023 strikes and lawsuit settlements; it was reported in production as of May 2026 with no date. A sequel series, Apollo Has Fallen, was announced in March 2025 with filming underway. Butler produces the TV side but is not expected to cameo as Banning. Treat both as TBA.
