About Independence Day
Independence Day follows the 1996 alien invasion repelled by a computer virus and a coordinated counterattack. Resurgence (2016) jumps twenty years ahead to a rebuilt Earth defense program facing a larger hive ship.
Two films, one linear story. A third film was planned but stalled after Resurgence underperformed.
