Invasion of the Body Snatchers adapts Finney's pod people four times with no shared continuity. The 1956 original ends with the doctor's highway warning, the 1978 remake moves the pods to San Francisco, the 1993 version sets them on an army base, and The Invasion from 2007 follows Kidman through an epidemic lens.
Each version retells the same replacement paranoia for its decade. A fifth adaptation has a writer attached since 2017 with no production. Watch in release order as four standalone takes, starting with 1956 or 1978 by taste.

All four films are independent remakes of the 1954 novel with no plot threads between them. Release order is simply the era tour from the 50s to the 2000s. The long-gestating fifth version has no date or production. Start with the 1956 original for the classic or the 1978 remake for the most acclaimed take.
