About The Fly
The Fly tracks teleport pods merging man and fly across two eras. The 1958 original sets the Delambre head swap, Return of the Fly in 1959 continues the son, Curse of the Fly in 1965 closes the first line, and the 1986 Cronenberg remake reboots with Seth Brundle body horror. The Fly II in 1989 follows the remake son Martin.
Watch the 1986 remake as the main start for modern viewers, then The Fly II as its direct sequel. The 1958 trilogy plays as a separate classic track with slower lab scares. No new Fly has been dated past development talk, which leaves the two eras closed.
Good to know
Pick one era first rather than stacking all five back to back. The 1986 remake assumes no prior Fly, so it works clean as an entry. The 1958 original plays stagy but short, which makes it a fast classic detour after Cronenberg. Treat The Fly II as the remake sequel only, since it ignores the 1960s line by design.
