About Jason and the Argonauts
Jason and the Argonauts chases the Golden Fleece from Thessaly to Colchis. The 1963 Don Chaffey film with Todd Armstrong runs 104 minutes and is famous for Ray Harryhausen's Talos and the seven skeleton warriors fight. It premiered in June 1963 through Columbia.
The 2000 Nick Willing two part miniseries retells the same myth for Hallmark with Jason London and longer subplots. Each version adapts Apollonius Rhodius on its own. Release order shows the effects jump from stop motion skeletons to television scale spectacle.
