About Johnnie To
Johnnie To built Milkyway Image with PTU in 2003 about a lost gun in one night with Simon Yam. Breaking News in 2004 about live cops plus Election in 2005 about Wo Shing votes set triad rules with Lok and Big D.
Exiled in 2006 about Macau hitmen plus Mad Detective in 2007 about inner ghosts plus Chasing Dream in 2019 about MMA set later highs. Each film resets crew but keeps fate, so order tracks style more than plot. The pace stays steady across entries, with each part adding new faces without losing the core tone.
Good to know
There is no shared story to reorder since films stand alone with new crews each time. Watch Election first for entry friendly triads, then try Exiled for gunmen. Treat the run as ongoing since To directs often, with Chasing Dream as the current endpoint. Plan extra time for finales, since later parts assume full knowledge of earlier twists.
