Lee Unkrich edited Toy Story before co-directing Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo. Toy Story 3 followed solo in 2010 sending Woody to Sunnyside furnaces. Coco arrived in 2017 taking Miguel to Santa Cecilia dead.
Both solos run on doors to afterlives with thin plots on purpose. The franchise guides cover those branches alone while this run shows his edit bay heart. Release order keeps the furnace before the marigolds straight. The furnace glows and marigold bridges carry every door with tears.

Watch Toy Story 3 before Coco since the door grammar carries over well. Toy Story 3 suits toy nights while Coco wants music focus. Both reward tears over plot hunger.
