About Mardaani
Mardaani stars Rani Mukerji as Mumbai cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. Mardaani from August 2014 runs 114 minutes as Shivani rescues teen Pyari from trafficker Walt with a covert Hotline and station raids. Director Pradeep Sarkar keeps the procedural tight with street level stakes.
Mardaani 2 from December 2019 runs 105 minutes with Shivani in Kota facing young killer Sunny and a media frenzy. Gopi Puthran directs with a cat and mouse chase through coaching hostels. Yash Raj Films announced Mardaani 3 with no shoot date by September 2026, so the two form the current set.
Good to know
Watch the 2014 film before the 2019 sequel since Shivani's marriage and team carry over directly. The second ups the gore with a new city and villain, but her rule breaking methods match the first hunt. Both run under two hours in Hindi with subs and police raid tension. Treat the run as open while YRF develops the announced third case.
