About Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins arrived August 1964 with Julie Andrews as the Banks nanny in 1910 London. Returns arrived December 2018 with Emily Blunt visiting the grown Banks children in the Depression era, about 25 years later in story.
Disney announced Returns in 2016 and released it to strong box office. Director Rob Marshall has said he wants a third film and Disney chairman once said nothing was in work, with no greenlight or date as of September 2026. Watch 1964 then 2018. Returns assumes you know the Banks family.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order. Returns sits 25 years after the original in both real and story years, so release order is the only list. The P.L. Travers books inspire but do not map to film order. No third film has been dated, so Returns from 2018 is the endpoint for now. Start with the 1964 film.
