About Mighty Ducks
The Mighty Ducks began in 1992 with lawyer Gordon Bombay, played by Emilio Estevez, coaching the peewees to the title. D2 (1994) takes Team USA to the Junior Goodwill Games, and D3 (1996) moves the Ducks to Eden Hall prep. The Disney Plus revival streamed from 2021 to 2022 for two seasons with Bombay mentoring a new squad.
Disney cancelled the revival after season two with the Ducks name restored and no further run announced. The Anaheim NHL team borrowed the films' name and logo, sitting apart as the sports legacy rather than a story continuation.
Good to know
Watch the three films in release order, since the Ducks name and the Bombay arc assume all three. The Disney Plus revival works after as its own generation with Estevez returning to pass the whistle. The animated series from 1996 shares only the name with hockey-playing ducks in space, safe as a curiosity outside the live run.
