About National Treasure
National Treasure starts with the 2004 Declaration heist about the Templar fortune, then Book of Secrets in 2007 chases the Cibola gold through the President's Book. Edge of History from 2022 to 2023 runs one Disney Plus season with a new cast twenty years later, cancelled after ten episodes. Release order is story order across all three, with the series assuming the films' treasure logic.
National Treasure 3 turned Hollywood real in August 2026 when Turteltaub confirmed an approved Disney script with Cage expected back. No date or cameras have followed yet, so it waits outside the list. The Page 47 tease from film two stays the dangling thread the third film would presumably answer.
Good to know
Watch both films, then the series only for completists. Edge of History borrows Riley for connective tissue but follows new hunters, making it skippable without losing the Gates story. The third film has a liked script and Cage's tentative return but no date, so treat the list as complete until production starts. Page 47 remains unanswered by design, not by viewing order.
