Premiere order in Thailand, which is how the stunts and budgets escalate.

About Ong-Bak

Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior from 2003 follows Ting on a trip to recover a stolen statue head, and it made Tony Jaa known for stunt work without wires. Tom-Yum-Goong from 2005, released in the US as The Protector, is a separate story about Kham and his elephants. Ong Bak 2 from 2008 and Ong Bak 3 from 2010 move centuries back to Tien in the Ayutthaya era.

Tom Yum Goong 2 from October 2013 closes the Kham story. The five films share a star, a choreographer style and long uncut takes, but Ting, Tien and Kham are different people. US cuts of the Protector films run shorter with rescored music, so check runtimes if you compare versions.

Good to know

Do not watch these as one serial, since Ong Bak 2 and 3 are prequels in setting only and Tom-Yum-Goong is its own continuity. Start with Ong-Bak from 2003, then Tom-Yum-Goong from 2005, then 2, 3 and Protector 2 in release order. An Ong Bak 4 credit for 2027 appears in some filmographies but has no studio date, so it stays out of the list until a shoot is confirmed.
