About Paul King
Paul King directs warm comedies with clockwork sight gags. Bunny and the Bull from 2009 was his oddball debut about an agoraphobic road trip. Paddington from 2014 rebooted the bear with unusual care, and Paddington 2 from 2017 somehow topped it with the prison marmalade stretch. Wonka from 2023 applied the same sincerity to a chocolate prequel and became a holiday hit.
He has only four features in fifteen years, which makes this the shortest director run on this site. Paddington in Peru from 2024 is not his film, he took a story credit while Dougal Wilson directed. Two Disney projects are confirmed next with no dates attached.
Good to know
Release order is the only order since the films share no continuity. Paddington 1 and 2 must stay paired in sequence, while Bunny and the Bull and Wonka slot anywhere around them. Do not count Paddington in Peru as a King film. He has a story credit only, with direction by Dougal Wilson. Prince Charming and the Labubu movie are both confirmed without dates and sit at the end until Disney locks days.
