About The Shaggy Dog
The Shaggy Dog (1959) stars Tommy Kirk as Wilby Daniels, turned into an Old English Sheepdog by a Borgian ring. The Shaggy D.A. (1976) follows an adult Wilby, now played by Dean Jones, running for district attorney while the curse returns. The Return of the Shaggy Dog (1987) is a TV sequel set between those two theatrical films.
The Shaggy Dog (1994) remakes the original for TV with Scott Weinger as Wilby. The Shaggy Dog (2006) reboots the premise with Tim Allen as Dave Douglas, bitten by a sacred dog rather than cursed by a ring. Watch in release order, since the Wilby arc spans the first three entries before the remakes branch off.
