About Space Jam
Space Jam began in 1996 with Michael Jordan joining Bugs and the Tune Squad against the Monstars, grossing over $250 million worldwide. A New Legacy (2021) from Malcolm D. Lee puts LeBron James and his son inside the Warner server with Don Cheadle's Al-G Rhythm stealing followers. Both films stage one climactic game with the Looney roster powered up.
No third film has been announced, with the studio treating each star era as its own event twenty-five years apart. The Looney Tunes play their classic selves in both, so no cartoon setup is needed beyond knowing Bugs and Daffy.
Good to know
Watch the Jordan film first, then the LeBron sequel, since the sequel riffs on the original's structure without continuing its plot. Kids can start with either since each game resets the stakes and the villain. The tie-in games and the comics extend the Tune roster fun with no required placement for the movies.
