Street Fighter on screen comes in three waves. The 1994 Van Damme film is beloved precisely because it ignores the games: Raul Julia's Bison carries the whole thing. Legend of Chun-Li (2009) tried a grittier reboot and missed. Then the fan-made web series Assassin's Fist (2014) finally treated the lore seriously and reset expectations.
Legendary's 2026 reboot with Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo as Ryu and Ken returns the property to theaters on October 16, 2026, set around a 1993 World Warrior Tournament. Each wave is its own continuity, so watch them as separate takes rather than one saga. Release order shows the full arc from camp to faithful and back to blockbuster.

Assassin's Fist and Resurrection are web series, not films, but they are the best live-action Street Fighter ever made and essential for lore fans.
