About Surf's Up
Surf's Up from 2007 follows Cody Maverick leaving Shiverpool for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off on Pen Gu Island. The mockumentary setup covers heats, judging, and Big Z hiding as the Geek. It earned an Oscar nomination for animated feature.
Surf's Up 2: WaveMania from 2017 brings back Cody, Chicken Joe and Lani for a team quest with the Hang Five, voiced by WWE stars. A TV series for young viewers is in development at Atomic Cartoons, announced September 2025, with Cody and Big Z returning but no network or date yet.
