About The Little Vampire

The Little Vampire opened October 27, 2000 from Uli Edel about Tony befriending Rudolph vampire in Scotland with Rookery hunt. It adapts Angela Sommer books with Jonathan Lipnicki lead. The Little Vampire 3D arrived October 2017 as animated reboot with Rudolph and Tony on quest for amulet.

Stories retell same friendship separately with no shared cast, so either works first, but release order shows effects growth. No third film has been announced, so these two are complete at about 90 minutes each. Both carry PG ratings with friendly scares.

Good to know

Watch the 2000 live film first for Lipnicki and Rookery hunt, then 2017 animation for amulet quest. The original runs 95 minutes with gothic Scotland, the reboot runs 83 minutes with CGI bats. Books hold more Sackville lore after for readers. Both suit ages 6 plus with mild vampire peril. All stream on family platforms.
