The Trip pairs Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as versions of themselves on restaurant tours for The Observer. The Trip from 2010 covers the Lake District across six meals with Michael Caine duels. The Trip to Italy from 2014 follows Shelley and Byron paths with more singing.
The Trip to Spain from 2017 tours Basque kitchens as careers wobble. The Trip to Greece from 2020 closes with Odyssey sites and a plain farewell. Michael Winterbottom directs all four with largely improvised lunches. No fifth trip was planned.
