About View Askewniverse
View Askewniverse links New Jersey slackers through Quick Stop clerks and Jay and Silent Bob. Clerks in 1994 sets Dante and Randal, Mallrats in 1995 widens the mall gang, Chasing Amy in 1997 turns to comics love, Dogma in 1999 goes biblical, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back in 2001 sends the duo to Hollywood.
Clerks II in 2006 revisits the counter ten years later, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot in 2019 spoofs reboots, and Clerks III in 2022 closes the counter story. Watch in release order since cameos and deaths carry over. Zack and Miri plus Red State stay outside canon as separate Smith films.
Good to know
Release order is story order with Jay and Silent Bob as the thread. Watch Clerks first for the black and white counter rules before Mallrats color widens it. Dogma plays biggest and works mid run once the duo lands. Save Clerks III for last because it resolves Dante and Randal directly. Treat the eight films as the closed set, with no ninth dated and Smith focused elsewhere.
