The film, then its sequel series. The only order that works.

About Willow

Willow starts with Ron Howard's 1988 film, where the farmer and would-be sorcerer Willow Ufgood protects the baby Elora Danan from Queen Bavmorda. The 2022 Disney+ series picks up years later with Willow leading a new quest to rescue a kidnapped prince.

Watch the film first. The series assumes you know who Willow, Sorsha and Madmartigan are, and its emotional beats are built as payoffs to the movie. The show was cancelled after one season and pulled from Disney+, so the two entries below are the complete screen story.

Good to know

The series creator has said a written second season exists and called the ending a pause rather than a finale, but the cast was released and no production is scheduled. Treat the story as complete at eight episodes. Val Kilmer does not appear on screen; his son voices a brief Madmartigan appearance, which the show explains in dialogue.
