About Witchboard
Witchboard from December 31, 1986 follows Jim and Linda after a Ouija session contacts a ten-year-old spirit that turns out to be something else. Kevin Tenney directed on about a 2 million dollar budget, and the film earned 7.4 million after expanding in March 1987. Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway from 1993 follows Paige in a new apartment with no returning characters.
Witchboard III: The Possession from December 5, 1995 moves to Canada with Brian and Lisa and a cursed board. The 2024 remake directed by Chuck Russell restarts the concept with a new cast. The three originals are anthology style, linked by the board rather than plot.
Good to know
There is no shared story to reorder, so one list covers it. Do not expect returning faces after the first film, since parts 2 and 3 reset with new leads. The 2024 remake can be watched at any point, but it works best last once you know the 1986 setup. Witchtrap from 1989 is a Tenney-adjacent cousin some lists fold in, but it is not a numbered entry and stays out of the main list here.
