About Wreck-It Ralph
Wreck-It Ralph from November 2012 follows Ralph and Vanellope inside arcade cabinets, directed by Rich Moore. Ralph Breaks the Internet from November 2018 jumps six years forward into the web and Slaughter Race, directed by Moore and Phil Johnston. The two earned about 471 and 529 million and both drew Oscar nominations.
Paperman from 2012 played with the first film and won an Oscar but sits outside the Ralph story. Ralph Breaks VR from 2018 was a location based Void mission rather than a film. No third film had an announcement as of early 2026, with directors saying the maturation arc closed cleanly and Moore having left Disney.
Good to know
Watch the 2012 film then the 2018 sequel, since the second builds on Ralph security and Vanellope ambition. Release order matches story order with a six year jump in both. Treat Paperman and VR as optional extras for completists only. A third film would need to undo the separation ending, which is why the guide lists two films with no undated slot until Disney orders one.
