About Black Sails
Black Sails works as a Treasure Island prequel twenty years before Stevenson's novel, following Flint and Silver's pirate republic across four Starz seasons from 2014. Season 1 runs eight episodes building Nassau's outlaw economy and the Urca gold chase.
Seasons 2 through 4 run ten each through the fort sieges and civilization's closing net. Starz announced the fourth as final in 2016. All 38 episodes run one serialized rise-and-fall with no spinoffs. Watch the four seasons straight through in air order.
Good to know
Release order is story order from the republic's peak through the fort sieges to its fall. The Treasure Island link pays off for readers but needs no homework. Season 1 runs eight episodes with the rest at ten. No continuation exists. Start with season 1 for the Flint-Silver dynamic that drives the whole republic.
