About Vikings
Vikings follows Ragnar Lothbrok across six seasons from 2013 to 2020 as the raid on England grows into the Great Heathen Army, then hands the story to his sons through Ivar and Bjorn. The tale stays in broadcast order with the Seer and Athelstan threads compounding season to season.
Vikings: Valhalla continues a century later on Netflix across three seasons from 2022 to 2024 with Leif Erikson and Harald Hardrada through the end of the Viking Age. No further spin-off has been ordered, so the nine combined seasons are the complete screen saga.
Good to know
Watch Vikings seasons 1 through 6, then Valhalla seasons 1 through 3, since the spin-off assumes the Ragnar legend as history. Story order matches release order throughout, so one list covers the saga. The show plays loose with real chronology for drama, so treat it as legend-inspired rather than a history course while enjoying the arc from raid to settlement.
