About Boston Blue
Boston Blue moves Danny Reagan to Boston PD after the Blue Bloods finale, with Donnie Wahlberg leading a new family of cops. Season 1 ran 20 episodes October 17, 2025 to May 22, 2026 on CBS, pairing weekly cases with the Silver family thread. Season 2 premiered October 9, 2026 with The Crash and airs through the 2026-27 season.
CBS renewed it December 3, 2025 alongside Sheriff Country. Blue Bloods knowledge helps with Danny's history but the Boston precinct resets every relationship. Watch season 1 first since the family roster and the transfer reasons carry into the second year.
Good to know
Release order is the story order. The weekly cases reset, but the Silver family arc and Danny's transfer fallout run across both seasons. Blue Bloods ended with its own finale, so no prior viewing is required, though Reagan history adds color. Season 2 premiered October 9, 2026 and is still airing, so later episode counts stay TBA until CBS confirms them.
