About Coach
Coach opened February 1989 on ABC about coach Hayden Fox, played by Craig T. Nelson, with Christine and Dauber around him. Seasons 1 through 7 cover the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles years with campus plots and bowl pushes.
Seasons 8 and 9 shift to the Orlando Breakers NFL job through May 14, 1997, closing with Leaving Orlando and the family settled. An NBC sequel ordered in 2015 filmed only a pilot before cancellation for creative differences over tone. No revival has aired since that dead pilot.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 9 in air order from start to finish without skipping. The college to pros jump in season 8 only works with seven campus years behind it fully. The finale was built as a series close, so no cliffhanger remains open. The dead 2015 pilot never aired and needs no hunting by fans.
