About The Day of the Jackal
The Day of the Jackal (2024) reworks Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel and the 1973 film into an ongoing cat-and-mouse series: Eddie Redmayne's meticulous assassin against Lashana Lynch's pursuing MI6 officer Bianca. The first season adapts the novel's skeleton, then keeps both leads alive for original stories.
There are only two seasons to track. Season 1 aired in late 2024 on Sky and Peacock, and season 2 was commissioned before it even finished, filming through 2026 for a spring 2027 return. The 1973 film is worth a night on its own as the inspiration, but it sits in a separate continuity and is not homework.
