About Designing Women
Designing Women opened September 1986 on CBS about the Sugarbaker interior design firm in Atlanta with Julia, Suzanne, Mary Jo and Charlene. Seasons 1 through 3 ran 22 episodes each, with season 4 at 28 through 1990 as the ratings peak with issue episodes.
Season 5 ran 24 episodes, season 6 ran 23 with cast turnover as Delta Burke left, and season 7 ran 22 to May 1993 with Julia Lee Duffy aboard. A 2018 sequel attempt never reached series, and Jean Smart has ruled out revival talk. Spinoff Women of the House from 1995 stands apart.

Watch seasons 1 through 7 in air order from start to finish. The Suzanne to Allison to Julia Lee turnover only makes sense in sequence, since office roles reset around the departures each year. The season 4 long run holds the famous issue episodes fans cite. No reunion film exists beyond a 2003 special and a 2020 charity read.
