About The Goldbergs
The Goldbergs ran ten seasons on ABC from 2013 to 2023 with 229 episodes, following creator Adam Goldberg's family in the 1980s Philadelphia suburbs. Wendi McLendon-Covey leads as Beverly, with the show built around VHS tapes, big rivalries and period jokes.
Schooled spun out of a January 2018 backdoor pilot and ran two seasons from 2019 to 2020 with 34 episodes. AJ Michalka returns as Lainey Lewis, now a music teacher at William Penn Academy in the 1990s, with Tim Meadows and Bryan Callen as Principal Glascott and Coach Mellor. Both series are finished.
Good to know
Watch The Goldbergs first, then Schooled. Release order and in-universe decades agree, since the parent covers the 1980s and the spinoff moves to the 1990s. Schooled was canceled in May 2020 after production stopped early, so its second season finale works as a series end with Lainey narrating the missing breakup over stock footage.
