About Silver Spoons
Silver Spoons aired on NBC and in syndication from September 1982 to May 1987 for five seasons and 116 episodes. It follows Ricky Stratton moving in with toy-magnate father Edward Stratton III, played by Joel Higgins, beside Alfonso Ribeiro as Alfonso and Erin Gray as Kate. Episodes pair one rich-kid scheme with one lesson, from the train room to the arcade.
The show moved to syndication for its final season with the household intact. No revival has been ordered, leaving the finale's grown-up Ricky as the close with the mansion toys packed rather than passed on.
Good to know
Watch one through five in broadcast order, since Ricky aging and the Kate marriage assume sequence across the whole mansion run. Early seasons play the fish-out-of-water setup before the mansion ensemble takes over. Later seasons lean into the teen plots, which land best with the toy-room years fresh.
