About Knight Rider

Knight Rider follows Michael Knight and his talking car KITT fighting weekly villains with turbo boosts and ski mode. The original run spans four seasons from 1982 to 1986, followed by the 1991 film, the Team Knight Rider spinoff, and the 2008 reboot with Mike Traceur and a new KITT.

Watch the original four seasons in air order, then the 1991 film, then Team Knight Rider, then 2008. The spinoffs reuse the FLAG setup but recast around it, so they play as codas rather than continuations. The 2008 run was cut short by the writers strike and cancellation, which is why it ends mid arc.

Good to know

Release order works because each revival assumes the original duo. Team Knight Rider runs one season of 22 episodes with a full new fleet and can be skipped without losing Michael's arc. The 2008 series starts with a TV movie pilot, then 17 episodes, then stops. Film reboots have been discussed for years without reaching production.
