About Parenthood
Parenthood adapts the 1989 Ron Howard film as the Braverman clan in Berkeley. Season 1 from March 2010 sets up Adam, Sarah, Crosby and Julia with Zeek and Camille above them. Seasons 2 through 5 from 2010 to 2014 grow the kids through school, autism storylines and marriages across 22 episode runs.
Season 6 ran 13 episodes from September 2014 to January 2015 as the announced final run. Jason Katims developed all six years for NBC. Every season inherits the last one's jobs and relationships, so the family payoffs only land in sequence.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 6 in order, since the kids grow up on screen and later finales call back early choices directly. The 1989 film and the short 1990 series are predecessors you can skip entirely without loss. The January 2015 finale was billed as the series end, and no revival has been announced.
