About Quantum Leap
The original Quantum Leap aired on NBC for five seasons, from March 1989 to May 1993. Scott Bakula plays Sam Beckett, a physicist stuck leaping into other people's lives, guided by the hologram Al and the computer Ziggy. The finale never brought Sam home.
The 2022 NBC revival follows physicist Ben Song, leaping 30 years later while a new team tries to retrieve him. Ernie Hudson plays Magic Williams, a man Sam once leapt into. There are no Quantum Leap films. Release order covers everything.
Good to know
Season years below use premiere years; original season 2 started in fall 1989. The revival ran 31 episodes and NBC cancelled it in April 2024.
