About Riptide
Riptide opened January 1984 on NBC with a pilot about Nick, Murray and Boz running a detective agency from a pier boat with a helicopter and robot helping. Season 1 ran 13 episodes to May 1984, season 2 ran 22, and season 3 ran 21 to April 1986.
The Screaming Mimi helicopter and the Murray robot frame the case plots around King Harbor weekly on the boat. The run was cancelled after season 3 with no reunion film ever made. Episode counts vary by pilot math, but the 56 commercial count is standard.
