About Scrubs
Scrubs follows J.D. Dorian through residency at Sacred Heart with Turk, Elliot, Carla, Cox and Kelso. Seasons 1 through 8 track J.D. from intern to attending across NBC and then ABC, ending with a finale built as a goodbye. Season 9 retools as Med School with Cox and Turk teaching new students and J.D. in a reduced role.
The revival season 10 premiered February 25, 2026 on ABC with Braff, Faison and Chalke back plus new interns. Watch in broadcast order since relationships, chiefs and daydreams stack season to season. The original run counts 182 episodes from 2001 to 2010 before the long gap to the revival.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 8 straight through for the core story, since the finale My Finale was shot as the series end. Treat season 9 as an optional spin-off season rather than required, because it swaps most of the cast to Winston University. New viewers should not start with Med School or the revival. Watch the 2026 revival last, since it brings J.D. and Turk back after the gap.
