About Sex and the City
Sex and the City follows Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha across dating and work in New York. Six seasons aired on HBO from 1998 to 2004, followed by the 2008 wedding film and the 2010 Abu Dhabi sequel. And Just Like That revived Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte on Max from 2021 without Samantha as a regular.
Three revival seasons aired through 2025, billed at the end as the final chapter. Watch original seasons first, then the two films, then the revival in order since marriages, children and Big fate carry straight through. The revival assumes the films, so do not jump straight to Max.
Good to know
Broadcast order matches story order with the films as bridges. Seasons 1 through 6 set the core four, the 2008 film resolves the Big wedding, and the 2010 film tests the marriages before the revival gap. And Just Like That recasts friendships after time away, so the original run matters for the returns to land. Treat the 2025 third revival season as the planned end, since Max closed the story there.
